We designed the architecture of a network that spans Mexico end to end

Nokia trusted us to design the architecture of a data transport network running across Mexico from north to south and east to west, for one of the country's largest telecommunications multinationals. The project keeps traffic flowing for its more than 20 million customers nationwide, nearly a sixth of the total population.
The challenge
One of Mexico's most significant telecommunications multinationals needed a data transport network able to span the country from north to south and east to west. Designing the architecture of a network at that scale means carrying traffic for more than 20 million customers, nearly a sixth of the country's population, with no weak points along the way. In a territory of long distances, the transport layer has to combine capacity, redundancy, and stability so the service stays consistent from one end to the other.
The solution
Nokia trusted us with the architecture of that transport network. We worked to the criteria that keep traffic flowing across the whole territory, accounting for capacity, redundancy, and how the network behaves in a country of long distances. We defined how links and nodes are structured so the network can absorb demand peaks and recover from failures without affecting service. The result was an architecture designed to operate end to end.
The impact
The project keeps traffic flowing for more than 20 million customers in Mexico. A solid architecture at the transport layer is the base on which the operator delivers its services at that scale, and it shapes the quality its users experience across the country. Being designed to grow, the network also lays the groundwork to add more capacity as data demand rises across the territory.
