We helped deploy Antel's video-streaming platform for all of Uruguay

We worked with Antel, Uruguay's leading telco, to supply, integrate, and support the various components of its over the top (OTT) ecosystem, spanning encoding, transcoding, origin, delivery, and set top boxes. Thanks to this solution, thousands of people across the country accessed free, high-quality audiovisual content on their devices, including broadcasts of the 2024 Olympic Games and the 2018 Russia World Cup. With a subscription, they can now also access Antel's exclusive movies and series.
The challenge
Antel, Uruguay's leading telco, wanted to bring quality audiovisual content to thousands of people across the country through its over the top (OTT) platform, Antel TV. An OTT ecosystem combines several technical pieces that must work in coordination so video reaches every device without interruptions. Content has to be processed, stored, and distributed at scale, and it has to arrive with good quality on a television as well as a phone, which demands a well-integrated technical chain from end to end.
The solution
We worked with Antel to supply, integrate, and support the various components of the OTT ecosystem, spanning encoding, transcoding, origin, delivery, and set top boxes. Each component plays a role in the chain that transforms content and delivers it to users on their devices. Encoding and transcoding adapt the video to different qualities and formats, while origin and delivery handle distributing it efficiently, and the set top boxes bring it to the television at home.
The impact
Thousands of people accessed free, quality audiovisual content, including broadcasts of the 2024 Olympic Games and the 2018 Russia World Cup. With a subscription, they can now also access Antel's exclusive movies and series. The platform lets Antel offer high-audience events and on-demand content on a single infrastructure, and expand its audiovisual offering as people's consumption habits evolve, without building a separate system for each type of content.
